Full-time faculty members with extensive experience and appropriate degree credentials teach CTC courses. Because most programs are based on hands-on laboratories, faculty members are selected based on their ability to explain and apply theory to courses and laboratories. The CTC contracts with WVU Tech for faculty to teach its general education courses, such as English.
Can you describe a typical CTC at WVU Tech student?
There is no typical CTC student. The diverse student body hosts both full-time and part-time students, traditional-age and adults, commuter and residential. Approximately 78 percent of students are full-time; 25 percent live on campus, and 60% are between the ages of 18 and 24.

Most program areas suggest an average of 16-18 credit hours per semester. Students may, however, elect to take fewer credit hours, extending the length of time in the program

The Middle College program is designed for adults who have been out of education for some time and require assistance in transitioning to college. Additionally, there is a non-traditional student organization that provides support for those returning to college.

Work experience may be accepted for college credit through the A.A.S. Board of Governor's program. Individuals who have experience may prepare a portfolio for credit petitions. Courses taken at other institutions will also be evaluated for transfer.
